The mountain slope is slippery this year
With each bounding leap I go no higher
I look below and see a pit frothing with fear
Sometimes I pray I could be a high flyer.
Still I try and try, trudging up the mountain
Even though it feels like its all for nothing.
I try to bite back tears but they come forth like a fountain
To try and hold on I grasp for anything.
But now the year is coming to an end
My tears make this slope so slick
I fear if I fall into the pit my soul will rend
It turns my stomach and makes me sick
I dont want to fall
but that seems like my only fate
I keep scrabbling at this mountain but its just too tall
